In short
- In June 2026 Binance told customers in several EU countries, among them France, Italy, Poland and Spain, that it would restrict its services2. For other countries, such as Romania, we could not confirm what users can do today.
- Binance said on 24 June 2026 that users can still reach their funds3. As of 10 October 2026 we found no published deadline for taking crypto out. We cannot see your account, so log in and look.
- Two ways of using AI need no Binance account: practice with virtual money, and trades you place by hand.
What is MiCA, and what changed on 1 July 2026?
MiCA is the EU’s rulebook for crypto companies. Firms already active could keep working under older national rules until 1 July 2026 at the latest4. Since then a company needs a MiCA licence to offer crypto services to people in the EU4. The rules also cover Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway14.
ESMA, the EU markets regulator, names one narrow exception. A company outside the EU may serve a client who came to it fully on their own45. We do not judge whether any company fits it.
On 23 June 2026 ESMA said firms without a licence must stop taking new EU clients at once. Their clients do not have MiCA’s protections, for example for client assets, ESMA said5. The statement names no company.
Does Binance have a MiCA licence?
Binance has no MiCA licence as of 10 October 2026. No Binance company is in ESMA’s public register of licensed crypto firms1. ESMA updates it every week, so a very new licence may not show yet.
To check, open the page and find “Interim MiCA Register”. Download the file “Crypto-asset service providers” and search it for the company name.
In which EU countries has Binance restricted its services?
What Binance users can do is not the same in every EU country.
Table: Binance in the EU by country group, as of 10 October 2026.
| Where you live | What Binance said in June 2026 | What press reports say |
|---|---|---|
| France, Italy, Poland or Spain | By email: no new registrations, restricted services, assets stay available for withdrawal26 | From 1 July 2026 trading and new deposits stopped, here and in other member states that the reports do not name. Withdrawals stayed open7 |
| Lithuania or Sweden | Not confirmed | Binance had local registrations here and in the four above8 |
| Another EU country, such as Romania or Germany | No action needed at that time6 | A Binance company in Abu Dhabi, outside the EU, serves these users8 |
The Abu Dhabi report is from the Financial Times, 1 October 2026. We read it through two other outlets. It cited one user and two people who know the arrangement. It said ESMA and regulators in France, Germany and Greece are examining this, and some have asked Binance for information. Binance told the paper that it follows the rules where it operates8.
We could not confirm the press reports on a Binance page. As of 10 October 2026 we found no published decision by a regulator. This can change, so log in and read what Binance shows you.
Can I take my money out of Binance?
Binance said in June 2026 that users can still withdraw. Cointelegraph reported that its notices said all assets stay available for withdrawal, to the user’s own wallet or to another provider6. Your own wallet is an app or device where you hold coins yourself.
As of 10 October 2026 we found no published deadline for withdrawing, and no report that withdrawals were stopped. We cannot see your account, so only Binance can show you what it allows today.
ESMA invites clients of firms without a licence to check the register. It names two options: moving crypto to a licensed firm or to their own wallet5. The decision is yours.
Which crypto exchanges have a MiCA licence?
ESMA’s public register lists the crypto firms that hold a MiCA licence1. The table shows five that we checked. It is not a recommendation, and a licence does not mean that you cannot lose money. USDC and USDT are stablecoins: coins made to stay close to one US dollar.
Table: five crypto exchanges with a MiCA licence, as of 10 October 2026.
| Exchange | Home country and licence date1 | Coins are priced in |
|---|---|---|
| Bitvavo | Netherlands, 26 June 2025 | Euro (427 coins) and USDC (11)9 |
| Bybit EU (bybit.eu, not bybit.com) | Austria, 28 May 2025 | USDC (107 coins), euro (17) and Polish zloty (4)10 |
| Gate | Malta, 29 September 2025 | Euro (200 coins) and USDC (199)11 |
| Kraken | Ireland, 25 June 2025 | Euro, US dollar and USDC (from a list for all countries)12 |
| OKX Europe | Malta, 27 January 2025 | USDC13 |
Other brands in the register include Bitpanda, Bitstamp, Coinbase, Crypto.com, KuCoin EU and Revolut1.
Can I trade USDT in Europe?
USDT is not offered for trading on the five licensed EU exchanges in our table, as of 10 October 2026. They price coins mainly in euros and in USDC.
Under MiCA an exchange can only offer a stablecoin for trading in the EU if the company that issues it is authorised in the EU. As of 10 October 2026 the company behind USDT is not in ESMA’s register of authorised issuers. USDC and the euro coin EURC are in it14.
An ESMA opinion of 8 October 2026 goes further: licensed firms should stop all services for such coins, holding and sending included. For a limited time they may still help clients sell, convert, move or withdraw what they hold. ESMA asks national regulators to have this done within three months14. The opinion names no coin.
What should I check before I move crypto from Binance?
Check three things before you move crypto from Binance. They are general points, not advice.
- Network. A coin can be sent on more than one network. Use only a network that the receiving exchange lists for that coin. Bybit EU’s help page, for example, warns that a deposit on an unlisted network can be lost for good15. Some coins also need a memo or tag, a short code shown with the deposit address.
- USDT. Each exchange has its own rule for USDT that you send in, so read it first13. Kraken’s page, updated 13 April 2026, says clients in the EU can deposit or withdraw USDT but cannot trade it. It does not recommend depositing. OKX Europe says that since 17 July 2026 users can deposit USDT only to change it into USDC, while that service is offered.
- Records. Download your trade and transfer history from Binance and keep the file.
How can I keep trading crypto with AI in Europe?
It depends on how the AI tool places orders.
Many trading bots and AI tools trade through an API key, a kind of password that you create on your exchange. It lets the tool place orders in your account, while the coins stay there in your name. If the exchange stops serving your country, that automatic trading stops too. Other tools only propose trades, and you place them by hand on any exchange.
We make ForecastsPro, a paid app. This part is about it. Its AI analyses your coin list and proposes buy, sell or hold. Limits written in code control the risk. You also need your own AI key, a code from an AI company that bills you for the use. In Europe today:
- Paper mode needs no Binance account. You practise with virtual money on Binance’s public test system. Its free test key needs a GitHub login16. We have not tested it from every country.
- Manual mode needs no exchange connection. The AI gives each trade. You place it by hand on the exchange you use, then tap Done. The app places no orders, so you set any stop-loss yourself. Its prices are in US dollars, from Binance’s USDT pairs. A USDC price on an EU exchange is usually close. A euro price is a different number.
- Real money mode needs Binance. It places orders automatically on your own Binance account, through a key that cannot withdraw. ForecastsPro connects to no other exchange. This mode may not be available in your country, because of local rules or of Binance’s own limits.
No tool can promise a profit, and you can lose money. See our Risk Disclosure. There is also a free live demo.
Questions and answers
Is Binance banned in Europe?
We cannot say that Binance is banned in Europe. As of 10 October 2026 no Binance company is in the EU register of licensed crypto firms1. We found no published decision on those questions.
Can I still use Binance in Romania?
We could not confirm what Binance users in Romania can do today. A press report of 1 October 2026 names six EU countries where Binance had a local registration: France, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Spain and Sweden. Romania is not one of them. The Financial Times reported that users in the other EU countries are served by a Binance company in Abu Dhabi8. We cannot see your account, so log in and look.

When will Binance get a MiCA licence?
Can I still use a trading bot on Binance in Europe?
A trading bot on Binance works only if Binance still lets your account place orders. It can do only what that account can do.
